Her fascination with silver originates from its medical applications, recognized for its antibacterial, anti-allergic, and fungicidal properties, silver is utilized in medical settings for sterilization and wound healing. This scientific background inspired Barth to integrate silver into textiles, aiming to create garments that interact with the body beyond mere adornment. She developed fabrics by amplifying pure silver onto parachute silk (ripstop polyamide) and various yarns for knit and weaving, incorporating both 925 (92.5% purity) and 999 (99.9% purity) silver into her designs.
